Inter and Milan have mathematically qualified for the Champions League in 2024-25, but the race for the other three spots is getting tighter than ever.

The Nerazzurri had already secured the Scudetto and their role as group seeds in the new expanded tournament, but Milan have today also managed to book their ticket to the UEFA competition.

Despite the 0-0 draw with Juventus on Saturday, today’s results proved enough to send them over the line, as both Bologna and Roma were held to stalemates by Udinese and Napoli respectively.

Atalanta won and still have a game in hand, closing up on the leading pack, while Lazio are also in the running in seventh place.

Why Milan cannot be caught

However, Milan have now built up enough of an advantage to be unattainable before the final four games are played.

Because Atalanta have a game in hand, they could still get to 60 points, but Roma are on 59.

Both of them cannot keep up with Milan, because they are scheduled to face each other in Week 36.

The game in hand is between Atalanta and Fiorentina, which cannot be scheduled yet because both are in the semi-finals of European competition.
